I rescued this plant a couple of years back when we moved house, it was in a pot and still is, in our garden. It has always just been a twig with a few leaves on but this year it has suddenly blossomed and smells divine. Anyone know what it is? It smells jasmine- ish....

What is this fragrant shrub?

It's a Viburnum.

Smells lovely, doesn't it?

I have this shrub and didn't know what it was called. Thank you!

Fabulous, thank you. Is it a climber or anything? It's flopping about a bit in the pot....should I stake it?

No, they are shrubs,not climbers.

You could stake it, while it’s still young, it won’t hurt.

Looks like Viburnum Bodnantense Dawn. I had to leave mine behind when we moved house, it was fab.

Thanks Gobbin and Chardonnay. I am very glad I didn't chuck out the sad little stick in a pot that was here when we arrived!

It is viburnum carlesii. It is heavenly. I think bodnantese doesn't smell.
