How do I get rid of celandine

Lesser celandine, I think it’s called. It is spreading across my lawn and I can’t get rid of it! I bought Weedol Lawn weed killer on the advice of Google and used it on Friday, but it doesn’t seem to have made a difference and in fact, the bottle doesn’t actually mention Celandine as one of the weeds it clears!

What can I do?!

Mow the lawn and leave it as it will disappear all on its own by the end of may. It will be back next year but unless you want to hand weed it out your lawn I would leave it as only appears for a short while.

There’s one area (where there used to be a pond) that is almost entirely celandine (and moss!) but no grass! I want to grass seed it-do I just put grass seed down on top of the celandine?

Unfortunately when you dig celandine you will find it has little bulblets which break off and spread it. It has a short flowering season. I just mow over it.
Replacing the turf might be the way to go. I don’t think seeding the area will work.
