Taking over my border ... took out the main shrub and tried to smother sucker shoots with mulch but it lives on and on. Impossible to dig out suckers must run very deep. No flowers.

Looks like cotoneaster horizontalis, but that's not a pest.

Looks like it might be some sort of spiraea to me.

It's neither of those. Could it be winter jasmine? Did it have yellow flowers a few weeks ago? It can be a bit of a spreader, as the stems root where ever they touch soil.

Thanks all - I’ve tried the app it keeps suggesting different plants mostly barberry.

The original shrub apparently did have some white flowers but these off shoots do not flower even the larger ones circa 50 cm tall. I have read that cotoneaster h is considered invasive which this most certainly is. I am at point of clearing whole bed to root it out. I want to know the name of my nemesis!!
