Dog friendly weed killer

Is there such a thing? The patio has huge weeds growing out of it and its a big patio! What would be the best way to remove the weeds without killing the dog in the process.

My Dad swears by boiling water, I turned up one day and he was strolling along with his kettle, I thought he's lost the plot!

Hmmmmm so maybe not kill the dog but scald him :-) I'll give it a go Defender, will try on a patch and see if it makes any difference.

Pull by hand.

Wedge a trowel in first and wiggle to loosen them then pull them up.

Chemical weed killers are terrible for the environment
