Seed potato

Last year my husband's work had a competition where everyone was given bucket containing seed potatoes and the prize was for whoever grew the heaviest crop. My husband left the bucket outside in all weathers and forgot about it. Needless to say he failed miserably and was almost last out of about 100 people.

This year I want to win that potato competition! So far my plan is to put it in the porch (which gets a lot of sun) and water it every day. Would manure help? Or would that be too much and kill it off - it's only a small bucket! Anything else I can give it to assure we bag that top spot?

Plenty of organic matter, plenty of water. If you feed, use high potash and phosphate feed.
