Raised bed advice

I'm trying to take control of my garden. There was a large flower bed with overgrown woody shrubs. This has now been cleared and I've ordered sleepers to make a large raised bed.

Do I need to line the bed with a membrane before I put the topsoil in please? The bed will be about 2.5 x 2.5m in size.

Getting a bit excited now about the plants to go in the bed!

You could put weed control membrane down before the topsoil if you want to.
The raised bed will dry out faster than a normal bed so you may want to consider how to water it if we have a very dry summer.

I wouldn't bother with a weed control membrane; there'll be enough soil above it for weeds to take root. Some advice here
