Hi I was wondering if anyone has got any ideas on what this is? I've tried ID apps, asking everyone I know, googling extensively... No one knows! It's appeared in what was used as a fairy garden and is getting big now!

Are you doing it on the app? What's the problem (would like to help!)?

Looks like a weigela to me.

TheRhythmlessMan · 29/03/2019 22:10

Yes could be weigela or maybe deutzia? The whispy branches look a bit like a pale leaved buddleja. Can you give us a closer pic of the leaves (my phone shows your pics as a little bit blurry when I try to look closer).

TheRhythmlessMan · 29/03/2019 22:12

Are the leaves variegated?

BelladonnaKebab · 29/03/2019 22:26

No they seem to be all one colour. Deutzia was one of the possible options on the ID app I used. I have no idea where it's come from! This is another photo I took this afternoon (if it uploads!) Otherwise I can try again tomorrow.

Maybe forsythia.

Beebumble2 · 30/03/2019 01:25

Could be Philadelphus or Deutzia. I’ve both in my garden, also youngish shrubs and their leaves look similar. Although the Deutzia has buds on it.

TheRhythmlessMan · 30/03/2019 06:58

Yes I was wondering philadelphus too.

The way the left stem arches and the way the leaves are arranged on it make me think deutzia.

I'm a bit stumped on this one op! Maybe we need to see it once leaves are a bit bigger.

BelladonnaKebab · 30/03/2019 08:27

Thank you for all of your suggestions! I'd be happy with any of those especially as my DFIL told me it was a weed and to just get rid! Will keep an eye on it and see what changes happen, then probably come running back here with more pictures for you!Grin Thanks again!
