I'm hoping someone can help, I bought this plant from the local garden centre about two months ago, it seemed to be healthy and thriving but in the last few weeks it seems to be developing black spots at the start of the leaves and stems. I had thought at first I'd overwatered it and so I've only watered it sparingly when it's dry for an inch or so when I feel the soil.

I've just gone to check it and found a crawly thing in the bottom of the pot. I'm having no luck identifying what's wrong or what it is, it had lots of little legs like a centipede?

Any advice is welcome, I'll attach pictures so you can see what I can! Tia!

It's difficult to see what the crawly thing is, but I think the best advice is to take it out of the pot, removing all the compost, and repot into a well-drained potting mix (John Innes 2 plus fine potting grit, about 50/50)in case the problem is in the roots. Does the black stuff on the leaves rub off? That could be the result of your pest problem, so inspect the plant carefully, and see if there is evidence of infestation.

The black looks fungal to me. I'd remove the most effected leaves, or all if it means 30% of leaves plus remain.

As for the bugs as PP said I'd remove as much soil as practical and replace.

I only water mine once every few weeks, keep it out of direct sunlight and use lukewarm water, they are supposed to hate cold water. I agree with repotting into gritty soil and removing the worst affected leaves.
