Looking to get some plum slate chippings for the garden. Ideally want the bigger size, 40mm, very plum in colour, where would be the best place to get them from or does it vary depending where you live? We did get some from b&m last year but it was the very small size & they don't look very plum at all as some don't, but I've seen some that do!

We got ours from our local builders merchant as needed a large amount and it worked out cheaper. When they were first laid they looked almost grey and I thought they had sent the wrong colour. But it was the dust from being moved and once washed off looked properly plum coloured. They look lovely, especially after rain. And we went for the larger 40mm size as stays put more, and we were replacing horrible pea gravel that skittered around everywhere.

Yes get some prices from building merchants, the larger the quantity, the cheaper obviously.
