Easy shurbs/plants for pots

Can anyone give me suggestions for easy to maintain small plants/shrubs for pots. Don't mind a bit of cutting back, but I'd like something that's hardy.

I put up lots of different evergreen grasses and geraniums, if you go on to the Crocus Nursery site you can look at what's evergreen, hardy and different colours then you can buy them from somewhere cheaper.

Hydrangeas, acers, azaleas,Fatsia, sambucus, bamboo, fuchsia and roses.
These are all plants that I grow in planters, and are easily looked after.
Most shrubs will grow happily in planters, as long as the planter is large enough, has the right compost and is kept watered.
