Laying lawn/turf

We have worked our socks off and cleared this huge overgrown garden over the last 2 years. We want to lay turf, but we're worried about what order to do things in. The area is very uneven and there will be a tonne of weeds coming up in spring. What do we do and when?

Is it the cleared section of ground in the first pic you're wanting to turf? If you're worried about weeds, you could level the earth now and cover over with a weed control fabric until the weather warms up.
