Can I grow broccoli from seed indoors?

Just that really Dd has recently decided she can eat a whole head of broccoli in one sitting Grin so I got some seeds.

I realise it is the wrong time of year really - but would they survive if I start them off and keep them on a cool area indoors in a large planter/pot each?

I think you could keep the seedlings alive like this, but it’s not going to be worth the effort for the amount, if any, you will get to harvest. Sorry to be discouraging

They are bloody enormous! We grew broccoli and cauliflower last year and the leaves were huge!

Brocolli on the left.
They were so big they were actually nice in the garden but for effort and space I'm not sure they were worth it. We didn't actually get any broccoli, just leaves, but did get cauliflower.
Also the butterflies were mad for it and left so many eggs on the leaves.
