Small leaved trailing plant for bathroom

BobbyBanana · 27/12/2018 00:49

Having moved some of the houseplants into the bathroom for winter and seeing how they are thriving in there, I thought I'd add a trailing one for a shelf I have above the bath opposite the shower.

Any recommendations?

I've got a few in my bathrooms, but haven't got the little labels on to tell you what they are.

B & Q sometimes have a good selection or try your local garden centre.

Not a great deal of help, sorry.

We’ve got a chain of hearts and a chain of beads in our bathroom and they are both lovely and so special.
The chain of hearts in particular is often mentioned as being very hard to kill!

A small variegated ivy?

A spider plant

Tradescantia, known as ‘Wandering Jew’ it comes in a range of stripy varieties, is difficult to kill and you can chop bits off and root them to make more. Spider plants are lovely too.

Maidenhair fern?

Branleuse · 27/12/2018 10:10

a tradescantia would be lovely and theyre really hardy

Definitely not a spider plant! Reminds me of my student days Confused

Tradescantia is too large leaved really - I'll look in B&Q for some weird specimens.

I know my outdoor plants really well but houseplants have never been possible as my last house was so cold.
