What should I do with these in winter? They are looking very sad at the moment, all lanky and with brown leaves.

Should I trim them, and if so how much?

Good morning - you can cut them right back to ground level without them coming to any harm. They are truly hardy and will not suffer from a good pruning! Hope this helps

They are also the simplest plant to divide. If they get overgrown just dig them up and separate and plant elsewhere. (Or give them to me😁) I love them, they are so easy to care for and give such a long display.
