can i/ should i put degradable nappies in compost bin?

hi, ive just received my compost bin, so am new to it all, but so excited
anyway, im using baby naturecare... think thats what theyre called?(sainsburys) overnight on dd. it says that they are 100% degradable, so i was wondering if i can put them into the composter? or is it a bit urrghh?

I really don't think you should put raw sewage on your garden

No you can't. You need a wormery to fully compost nappies, and a fairly sizeable one at that I'm afraid!

We did put non-poo nappies in compost bin as an experiment but we ended up chucking them because they just hung around for ever!

thanks reiki, i wondered because a) its just like manure isnt it and b) when i do eventually get compost, it'll only be for flowers so we wont be eating anything its been near

Hi I've just started my own veggie patch so i've been reading up. Apparantly its a real no no to add human, dog or cat poo to compost. The bbc gardening website is very helpful

You shouldn't use the poo of any meat eater apparently.

plus 100% degradable nappies dopn't degrade if they're put ina plastic bag of any sort
