Feed for window box herbs?

Hi there - just planted up my window boxes with a load of herbs: parsley and thyme mostly. Shall I just water them or can anyone recommend a feed to give them a boost without making them dodgy to eat in anyway? In the past I've used tomato food, which is great for flowers, but I don't know about for foliage.

It's a south facing window sill so they should do quite well...

they shouldn't need any food - thyme likes it tough and shouldn't need anything but a bit of water and not too much of that, and once parsley gets going if you have used fresh compost then it should be fine for the summer. If you do feed them don't use tomato food as it will just make them flower. If the parsley starts looking ropey use a nitrogen-based feed and don't waste it on the thyme. Or dig up the parsley and buy some more.
