What is is this Beautiful small tree?

I love it! It’s been red for a while. I’m thinking of getting one in my little front garden...

It looks like some sort of Acer.

Yup it’s an Acer. I love them!

Yep it's a Japanese Maple. I have a few of this variety (Osakazuki) and they are the most brilliant red at the moment. Well worth it. They don't like getting dried out though (lost one this summer).

I have two in my garden! A great big one, with dark red leaves in the summer which turn bright scarlet in autumn. The little one is more of a plum red and the leaves don't change colour; they just shrivel and drop off.

Our garden's on a hill at the back and the trees are staggered up the slope next to a path. When the winter sun shines through from behind they are eye-popping! Love them.

My dad was asking what we’d like for Xmas . I’m going to request a baby osakazuki. Years of joy (providing I don’t kill it) xx
