can i put coffee grounds in my compost?

says it all really, I know tea bags are ok but what about coffee grounds from the caffetierre?

Coffee grounds make a very good mulch for slug-sensitive plants. Apparently slugs' delicate constitution can't tolerate caffeine as well as we can, and they explode... Grounds are an excellent mulch, whether in compost or straight on the ground.

apparently if you turn up at starbucks or pret and ask for their leftover grounds they will give you sackfuls. never done it myself but keep meaning to
