Is it easy to build a raised bed?

I want to grow some fruit and veg with the kids next year and was thinking of having two large raised beds.Would also help use less plastic

Anyone have any helpful tips?

It depend what you’re putting them on. We used scaffolding boards on a (manky) part of the lawn. We put cardboard over the grass and filled in with compost/ soil improver.
It’s been two years now and we’ve had some great veg.

I'd be doing that, the soil is a bit rubbish so I'd be weed blocking and composting

I'm making some new raised beds out of old tyres-I love a bit of recycling and my friend has a garage so I've taken delivery of 20. All free as they have to pay to get rid of them 
Google tyre flower beds if you're interested. We're getting ready to paint them too.
