High impact plants

I need some colour for autumn/ winter for beds and near fences. Ideally quite tall plants

Any ideas?

Michaelmas daisies and dahlias, but they’ll go once the frost cones

Cornus/dogwood- bright red/yellow/orange leaves and then bare stems. They use them to dramatic effect at our local RHS garden.

Sedum Autumn Joy is lovely and flowers for ages. The dead flowers also look wonderful when covered in frost.

Sorry, missed the bit about tall plants!

Amelanchiers are also lovely. The leaves are a beautiful red in autumn.

Lovely blossom in spring too- I love mine
