Secret Garden

I'm about to embark upon a garden project which involves creating a garden den and a sort of secret garden element to the bottom of the garden for the dcs.

It will be next to the chickens which I'll be screening off with that brush fence on a roll stuff.

I plan to make it like indoors outside with picture frames and mirrors and the exterior is going to be twigs and branches a la camping with the scouts.

I saw something similar in a French Home and Garden magazine but only have 2 pics to go on.

Can anyone help me with inspiration so it doesn't just look naff?

I'd have a look at a Diarmuid Gavin site as he loves creating beautiful/whacky outdoor spaces.

He might give you some inspiration.

I have just got back from visiting an amazing garden throught the National Garden Society open gardens for charity scheme- 66a East Dulwich Road - are you in London? If so, pop over and have a look. The bloke has done exactly what you describe. It is magical. DD and I spent a good hour, exploring and watching the frogs and eating flapjack by the toe dipping pool. A series of outdoor rooms. Inspirational.Open til 6pm.
