Christmas cactus

Hello. I recently repotted a wee Christmas cactus. It seemed very happy with this development and grew loads in a very short time. It also developed these weird little roots growing up and out of the pot.

What is their purpose? Is my wee plant ok?

TIA

They all do it! It is easy to propagate Christmas cactus by removing the stem with roots attached.
Just leave it, water sparingly and you should be rewarded with flowers in later Autumn onwards.
Mine do best on a light but not sunny windowsill. They are found naturally growing on the forest floor, so not really a cactus.

Oh good! Thank you. This one was a fairly sad wee thing until I repotted it when it seems tk have gone a bit mad
