Worm composting - what size bin?

Hello! I haven't posted on here in years and I come back to talk about worms, not of the small child kind - my kids are growing up and my problem is more the garden than them (for now!)

We had a rat problem with our Green Johanna (too long a story) and I am now looking at another solution and have decided that worm composting would work well for us.

However some of the bins seems tiny. We are a family of 5, home cook pretty much everything and so have a lot of peelings and eggshells and teabags etc. What size wormery should we buy? I have seen a 100l one - would that be too big or does that seem reasonable for the size of our family?

Would be grateful for any tips and advice!

Thanks!

You can make them pretty easily. We have a black bin with a sump and tap at the bottom and then you can just add extra bins as and when needed.
