Does anyone have a wormery?

I've just set mine up, it came with a bag of wood chip pellets and a coir mat, neither of which are mentioned in the instructions!
I've just checked on the worms after their first night, they'd all got under the newspaper and were sitting in the liquid sump 🙄
Any advice?
Thankyou!

Hi Cherry, I spoke to a worm expert and now know that the wood pellets are worm treats (cheap dates, obviously!) And the coir mat can go on top of them to keep moisture in. My wrigglies are now very happy, have stopped trying to escape and are munching their way through eggshells and tea bags. Fingers crossed for lovely worm tea and compost !

Where did you get yours from? I’m thinking of putting it in the utility room as I’ve read they don’t tolerate cold to well, where do you keep yours?

Mine is by the wall in a very sheltered part of the garden, if you want to keep it in the house you may be better off with a bokashi bin.
Mine came from the company that first sold wormeries in the UK, they are now owned by Gutterguard, they also do Bokashi bins. Sorry, can't do links on phone app.

My council sells them at a subsidised price, along with compost bins- so check on your council website.
I got one from wriggly wrigglers before the council began the programme...
