Can we use this veg?

Hi all, I'm hoping to tap into someone's knowledge of home grown veg if I may.

We've had our allotment for a year and we're learning as we go. Unfortunately due to ill health and uncooperative weather we didn't pick our broccoli in time and it's sprouted (I've added pictures) will these still be ok to eat? I'll be gutted if we can't use them as our cauliflower went straight to seed as well

Also, we planted some carving pumpkins for the kids for Halloween but most of them are already orange, even though they're not very big and their plants have died if we leave them will they continue growing or will they be rotten by October?

Many thanks

Once the flowers form it will taste very bitter
trim through to get all the bits that are still green and enjoy :-)

Oooh thanks, Smile that's kinda what I was worried about but as long as the green bits are edible that's great

Does anyone have an ideas/advice on the pumpkins? TIA

Ah yes, sorry, the pumpkins
Cut them off the plants and put them somewhere dry and they will last until the first frost - they are the classic storing food

I grow squash (turks turban and acorn) and I store them frost free to eat right through the winter

if the plants have started dying, they will not get any bigger

Thank you so much for your advice, that's great Smile
