Wilderness in garden!

I have a wilderness area in the garden that I want to get under control - two years ago it was cleared but I let it get away again.

Please can anyone tell me what the weed at the front is (I think it had white flowers in spring?) and if its best to start tackling it now? I'm worried all the seeds will fall if I start hacking now?

It looks like a type of Loostrife, but as it’s all dried up I’m not sure.
Whatever you do seeds will spread, if they haven’t already.
I’d clear it and tackle the seedlings in the spring.
