A solution for the dog that will only poo on natural surfaces

I'm moving to a rented flat that has permission to have a dog, and is perfect apart from the fact that the rear garden is small and entirely paving stones.

My dog, being the pint sized Prince he thinks he is, will pee anywhere outdoors but will only poo on natural surfaces - grass or earth.

I'm hoping to put in something that will survive some male dog wee, some trampling (because he absolutely must turn around three times before pooing), non-green fingers and some poo that gets cleared up... and can be put in in October. Without looking awful. I appreciate this may be a bit of a tall order but I'm thinking along the lines of a raised bed (but what plants?) or is it possible to put astroturf directly onto paving slabs?

You can get dog toilet trays which are AstroTurf - not expensive. Could you try one of those. Alternatively, walk your doggy at the times he normally goes.

We toilet trained our dog using a tray from the garden centre and rolls of turf. Just replaced the turf when it was too smelly or started dying.

Is it a shared garden?

Get a plastic under bed storage box from Argos/poundstretcher and put sand or soil in it.

Dog toilet trays - what a time to be alive! Could do the trick.

It's a private garden, it's just small and I can't make any changes that aren't easily reversed!

DDog goes out for lots of walks, but I'd like him to have the opportunity to poo if he needs to go as much as possible, rather than restricting to twice a day.
