I am looking to get my garden revamped, I have attached a plan of what I would potentially want done but just wondered if I could get some mumsnet advice/ideas...

I am not someone with natural 'green fingers' so be gentle and nothing to fancy.

Is the house to the right of your diagram?

I would make the patio big enough to take your furniture and ditch the decking at the end of the garden. If you're eating and drinking in the garden, it's better to be closer to the kitchen than having carry stuff back and forth to the end of the garden.

In the two beds with lavender (not sure if you mean plants or colour), I'd go for something with structure that's easy to care for rather than wild flowers which will look good briefly then look a mess and potentially seed themselves everywhere.

Where you currently have the decking, I'd put maybe a pergola to the front and grow some flowering climbing plants like clematis, honeysuckle and jasmine and gravel the area and have a nice big bench hidden behind the pergola so you can sit in peace away from the house.

The critical thing to know about your plan is where the sun comes into the garden at what times of day - is the decking at the end as this area keeps the sun longest?
