Open glass terrarium

I inherited a beautiful large glass open terrarium from my nan, but I have no idea how to plant it or what plants would like to live there. I know you put stones in the bottom, then some soil. I think one plant that will grow out and trail out of the glass will look good. Any recommendations?

The terrarium sounds lovely.

A layer of charcoal on top of the grit will keep the soil sweet.
It’s quite important to get plants that need the same watering conditions, so ferns and succulents wouldn’t really work.
There are lovely Tradescantia, which trail, a purple one and the pale green hairy one would look good together. Then perhaps something with a more upright growing habit such as a small weeping fig.
Eventually they will get too big and need replaced and potted on. But Tradescantia are very easy to take cuttings from.
