Rose advice needed

Hopefully I've attached a picture of the random leggy rose in my front garden. I'm mid front garden overhaul but am stuck on what to do with it! It's pretty when it flowers so I'd rather not get rid. Has anyone got any advice?

I think you could revive that, it could be persuaded to grow around your window, with suitable support. Roses do well with a good haircut, have a look at rose pruning online - don’t cut below the leaf line, but I’d trim that by a third, possibly in two sessions. Follow that up with a liberal feed of well rotted muck and it will be a picture again. I mix a bucket of muck up with water and slosh it around the stem, then another dose of just muck on top. Snip off the faded flowers regularly, drop banana skins around it, even better grow chives around it for bouncing rose health. When you’ve got it growing beautifully you can maintain them by following the flush of flowers with a haircut and a good feed, they are amazing resilient and responsive to the care, you’ll get another flush of flowers if you do that.

Another question sorry! Do you think it's a shrub rose gone rogue or a climbing rose? On the RHS website trying to figure out what section I need!

Good advice from yellow, but I would caution against feeding too generously at this point because you will encourage new growth which will not be hardened off before the winter. Would suggest a modest meal now, and big dinner next spring
