Home plant turned purple?

Hello,

I'm really confused by my house plant. We have had it for quite a few years now and keeps getting bigger and bigger so I keep putting it in bigger pots. I always keep it in the bathroom as whenever someone has a shower that's usually enough to keep the plant hydrated. However it's just started to turn purple and doesn't look as thick and luscious as usual.

Any help? Grin

Thanks x

I think it's a Gasteria - closely related to Aloes. It looks quite healthy, and being a succulent plant it stores moisture in its leaves, so maybe more frequent watering will plump them up. They can also turn colour quite dramatically if in strong light, turning red or purple, so it could be responding to the very sunny weather we have been having.

Yes I have moved it to a window recently so that could be then. I'm happy to know it isn't dying. Thank you for your help x

My gasteria has gone a funny colour as well - probably a combination of heat and light.
