Hello,

Can anyone help me identify these plants please?

We've just had our garden landscaped as it was so over grown when we first moved in. This summer a few 'plants' have survived the diggers of last years project and some I'm unsure what they are. I think they're weeds however my husband is convinced they're not.

Any help?

Thanks Grin

I could be way off the mark, but the first looks like a peony. The second is a bit puzzling, those deep purple leaves look vaguely like Cotinus coggygria, which is usually a shrub or small tree. Maybe someone else can come up with some ideas.

I thought hellebore and Berberis

abitoflight · 25/07/2018 16:28

^ this IMO too

abitoflight · 25/07/2018 16:29

Sorry - second I think cotinus

clairethewitch70 · 25/07/2018 16:29

Second plant possibly a eucalyptus Azura? First is possibly a Peony

I do hope it is a peony! They're my favourite flowers along with roses. I'll do some research on all the names that have been given and hope something lovely grows. Thanks everyone! X

I think 1 is a peony too

I think peony and continus.

Hellebores and a Cotinus (smoke bush). Google both. They are worth keeping. Hellebore will flower in winter which is good. Smoke bush will grow large unless you keep it pruned back every other year. But when its big enough to flower will look fantastic.

NanTheWiser · 26/07/2018 11:46

Leaves are wrong for Hellebore, I'm quite sure it's a Peony.

The last one looks like a berberis.
