We bought this in the sale at a garden centre (UK) but can't remember much about it. We've just moved house and brought it with us. It's an evergreen and I'm pretty sure it said it was native to New Zealand. It has little starry white flowers out now.

Any ideas what it might be? I'd like to identify it if possible so we can plant it in the right place, bearing in mind eventual height & spread.

Found it! www.terrain.net.nz/friends-of-te-henui-group/table-1/lacebark.html

Apparently it can grow up to 11 metres so not ideal for our garden.

It's gorgeous Village, I've never seen one before, do you think it's hardy? I know that Pahutukawa trees aren't or I would have one like a shot!

It's in full blossom at the moment and looks lovely and is beautifully scented, a bit like Star Jasmine. I've read that it is hardy in a sheltered sunny position, so that's good as we have a south facing garden.

I think it's a more compact variety called Stardust so we can find a permanent home for it at the back of a border. In flower it will really stand out against the dark green trees behind so very happy. Smile
