Please can you identify this tree?

It's HUGE. Very large leaves - teardrop shaped and about 25cm long by 20cm wide.
White flowers with purple and yellow markings. Faint scent.
In the autumn, it produces long seed pods as shown in third photo,

I think it's an Indian BeanTree (Catalpa). They're beautiful trees and you seem to have the golden-leaved version, which is even lovelier IMHO.

Looks to me like a golden catalpa too. Very jealous yours is flowering - mine is too young!

Do you know if you can prune them? It's got a few dodgy looking branches on it that we'd like a tree surgeon to lop..
