Does anyone else have to squirrel proof their strawberry patch?

Bloody squirrels! We always seem to have one in our garden as next door have a hazel tree and a walnut tree. The squirrels do very well out of both! Our new strawberry patch is covered in netting to protect from the birds, but in the meantime it has been decimated by the squirrels. We have twelve plants (Elsanta) and have had one strawberry.

I've bought a load of tent pegs to secure the netting to the ground.

Anyone else having the same problem and how are you solving it please?!

Our strawberries were netted with tent pegs pegging the net down, mostly to stop the blackbirds really. But we have at least 3 squirrels that visit regularly and that was enough protection. Having said that, they're well fed from the bird feeder. They don't touch the alpine strawberries that we have mind, so not sure how interested they are in them.
