Horseradish

We’ve been in our house for around 6 months and are gradually starting to tackle the garden.

The house was empty for over a year before we moved in, and was previously owned by an elderly couple who must have been super keen gardeners in their time. So overgrown and neglected is a bit of an understatement! There are all sorts of interesting things popping up, but it’s a huge struggle keeping on top of the weeds, brambles, bindweed etc.

We have a huge (and I really mean massive) horseradish plant right in the middle of the garden. It’s not attractive, I have no need for a regular horseradish harvest, and it’s in a prime bit of playing space so I want to get rid of it. But how??? The roots seem very deep and big so I have no idea how best to tackle it. Digging it out with a fork is definitely beyond me (esp as heavily pregnant!)

Any ideas oh wise ones?
