And is it normal for it to have red leaves at this time of year?

Thanks!

Think it is a Photina (sp) but it looks poorly. Yes the new growth is red but the leaves should not be drooping or dry.

Rhododendron?

Sunshine49 · 24/06/2018 08:42

Yikes - thanks Royston. Any idea how I can fix it? Lots of water?

It won't do any harm! Difficult to tell from picture and I am no expert, was expecting someone more knowledgeable to come along. Sorry.

Hoopaloop · 24/06/2018 18:46

It's photinia and that's normal.

Hoopaloop · 24/06/2018 18:48

Oh, the scorched leaves on the left (shit phone pic). Water it.

Sunshine49 · 24/06/2018 22:32

Thanks Hoopaloop! How much water do you think it needs? I left the hose on right next to the tree for 10 minutes today?! Confused

My Red Robin (Photinia) has lots of new red leaf growth and we've had ours years so that seems normal. Is there another tree on that dying side who is taking all the goodness?

Sunshine49 · 25/06/2018 12:20

Thanks Anne. My neighbours have a tree of similar size on the other side of the fence, but not sure what I can do about that really! I'm going to give it a really good watering again today.

20-30L every other day, to beneath dripline.
