Anyone know what tree this is?

Just found my daughter with a seed/berry off this tree in her mouth. Any idea if it is poisonous? I managed to get it out before she ate any but I'd like to know what kind of tree it is as this is somewhere that we will be staying a lot in the future.

It looks like an ornamental cherry. The fruits have a bitter taste but not poisonous as far as I know.

It looks like a cherry tree to me. We have what looks like the same thing in a neighbouring garden.
