Good morning, could someone please ID this little plant please and if possible offer any care tips.

Looks like either an Alpine Phlox or an annual Stock, both the same family.
If it’s the annual just put it in the sun and water it. When the flowers fade pinch them off and it will probably send some shoots out.
If it’s an alpine Phlox make sure it’s in free draining soil.

I'd go with the annual Stock - it isn't an alpine Phlox.

Thank you very much, so once the flowers have finished I should cut them? Then the plant might send out some more?

Yes, they are evergreen and really easy to look after. They grow from small cuttings to large plants really fast. Just chop off the long stalks with the flowers once they start looking a bit tatty and the plant will grow more. They produce flowers for months on end (all year round in some places of the UK).
