What is this shrub

Its so ugly, seems to have been eaten by something and never looks nice!

It looks a bit like a viburnum - they’re prone to viburnum beetle but you can get a spray that works. Tbh I cut mine back hard and then sprayed it when it regret and it looks much healthier. Depends if you want to use bug killer in your garden though.

Thanks NellVarnish. I have googled viburnums and i think you are right. I will cut it right down and see what it does.

That’s my go to - chop it down and hope for the best. 😄 They’re quite a vigorous shrub so it should come back, just keep your eye on it and if you see any holes (I never see the beetles), spray it. Good luck!
