I dug it up putting a plant in!

It's a moth pupae, possibly this one ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=1731 ?
I often find them - I didn't realise they actually wriggle I nearly wet myself! until the other day 😄

Oh I agree the movement was all kissed of gross!

Should I stick it back under the soil?
