Edges. Blasted edges.

I have a mile of edges that seem to sport particularly speedy grass [sounds odd I know]. We can do the lawns and under shrubs etc with mowers but by the time that job's finished, bloody edges are all ugly and tufty. Again.
Been using the long handled edge cutter, good tool, that, but I just can't keep up.
Could anyone recommend a nice little edge do-er, either a manual mower ( as lighter and won't chew up drive) or a miracle gadget that makes an easy job of it.
Please.

GingerKitCat, thank you, have similar in my 'kit' but need something more of an 'industrial' capacity .
Grasslands, thank you, that's more like it but DH will moan about yet another expensive garden gadget... . But I need them all you know.....

Strimmer?

@Grasslands the links not working and I'm praying it's a wonder tool that helps I can't kneel down ( lots of knee surgery) so struggle to do the edging too

Definitely a strimmer, I have a cheaper one than the above link, and it's brilliant! I can do my edging in about 10 minutes instead of half an hour using shears, and it gives a neat, clean edge.

Honda as well as Black and Decker and a few other companies do make a professional grade powered lawn trimmer.

Try looking up; power edger or electric edger.

We have a Husqvarna petrol strimmer, but the edges strimmed do not look 'naice' , I want crisp lawn edges. Crisp and even [pouts].

consider investing in Everedge. Depends on the size of your garden but it does a fantastic job of keeping the grass from growing into your flower beds and a quick trim with whatever shears you have available restores it to magazine level sharpness in minutes. I wouldn't bother at all! I recently got artificial grass installed by Maze Grass UK and my life has never been easier! Instead of mowing and worrying about edges and regrowth, I can just sit and enjoy my garden whenever! Have you thought about doing the same?

I do agree @HelenCurrier it's wonderful stuff and we love it in our current garden we are moving to a house without it but it's a much larger garden so maybe in a year or 2 when funds allow

PurpleWithRed, thank you, looks impressive, unfortunately the sheer distance it has to cover makes the venture very expensive. However, am plotting to use it in one of the central island-borders which is driving me potty.
