Turf or seed?

Hi,
I'm wanting to grass some strips in my garden where the previous owner had dug borders which are about 3ft across. I've pulled some plants out as they were planted to close and squashing each other but I'd really like to take the grass further over reducing the size of the borders. I've got 3 kids under 5 who trample all over it and I'm not sure if it would be best to turf or seed. What would you advise?
TIA

We normally put down seed on new areas or over seed thin parts, but our kids aren't on the lawn much. You have to wait a long time before the new grass is established enough to walk on.

In your situation I'd do turf. It will be usable much quicker. The downside is cost, but it doesn't sound like you need to do a large area.

Thanks for your reply. I did think turf would be the way to go.
