My Dad used to grow these in his garden, after my parents died I tried to take cuttings of the bush for my garden but none survived. I would really love to know what it is and get some for my garden.
TIA

It’s a bi coloured rose, quite old fashioned, but lovely. I don’t know this particular one, but try growers such as Heirloom Roses, David Austin or Peter Beale.
I got one last year in an end of season sale. It’s in bud, but I don’t know if the flowers will come true. I hope so.

Thank you, that's a good start for me to start looking.

Hi I know this rose- I love it! It is a climbing rose called Handel. I planted it in my last house and it was beautiful, perhaps a bit more white than pink in this picture: www.classicroses.co.uk/handel-climbing-rose.html

It reminds me of the David Austin Nostagia Rose.

No idea but it's stunning!

I think it's Handel too. I have it growing up the back wall of my house and I love it.

Wow, that's stunning! How vigorous is it?

Wistfulthinking · 03/06/2018 07:51

I would say it was fairly vigorous- I planted it in a corner near a gate and it was probably a bit too big for the space it was in. I moved 2-3 years after planting it and the stems were thick and strong, more like my Mortimer Sackler (David Austin) than some more delicate roses I have. It was truly beautiful! I will definitely plant it again.

Thanks Thanks

Isn’t it lovely!
