Grit for gardening

Hello all,

I need some grit to add to pots and also to the soil when I plant some lavender later in the year (NB I am new to gardening - I think one product should cover both of these things but please tell me if I'm wrong!). Can anyone recommend what to buy, and if possible where to order it online (I don't have a car).

Thank you!

Horticultural grit.

They have all different colours. You just want the bogt standard stuff if it is going into soil. Is your soil particularly clayey? If it is sandy then you won't need grit.

I would either go Amazon which can be higher price for the product but free delivery, or call up a local plant nursery or garden centre and order from them.

B&T/wickes etc will also have it and if you order online will deliver.

And yes soil is quite clayey - not too bad as previous owners have added compost etc but still think I'll need some for the lavender.
