I was given these and I can't think what to use them for!

I'm not very good at growing things but I would like to try!
I do have two pots of those strawberries growing that I've kept from last year which I'm very proud of. I've done that from a tiny plant I was given!

What would you put in these?

Bump.

Watching with interest as we have a couple of these planters too! I would love to have climbing roses but I'm not sure if that would work.

We do have a very pretty and fragrant honeysuckle on a similar trellis - but will need to be cut back every so often as it can grow quite thick!

Depends whether you want edible stuff or flowering. Could use them for a couple of tomato plants this summer whilst you think about it. If you want colour then maybe clematis and add a wire behind them so they can cover the fence.

I'm thinking of getting something similar for our garden and putting up a jasmine and clematis up the back and then filling the front with herbs to make a scent garden.

I have a clematis growing on the other fence! It's growing slowly but it'll get there eventually!
Is there a climber that would grow quicker and be colourful?
My house is on the end so I don't have to worry about it going into other gardens.

I have a 4 and 6 year old who would enjoy edible as they could help with the watering and it'll be exciting for them to see. They're really excited by the strawberries.

I agree that tomatoes would be very nice for your DDs. 'Gardeners' Delight' is a good one for outdoors - it's a cherry tomato with tons of flavour.

Oops - DC.

You will get tomato plants now at the garden centre. They are fun. You could try a fast growing annual climber maybe this year like morning glory. Or maybe a passion flower.

Second tomato plants (Gardner’s delight are easy and tasty). Your DC will love them. I used to always grow a few and when ds was little he loved picking some on the way past and just eating them.

As for colour (and edibles) climbing beans are good and have lovely flowers.

I was in the garden yesterday and I think we've got a passion fruit growing.. there was one there before that we had to take down because it was around the shed which needed to be taken down.. maybe it never actually left!

Annoyingly it's almost next to the clematis! But only a little stem at the moment!

The white circle is what/where the second picture is.
