Hi all, this bush growing next to our house has started dying off. Cab anyone identify it and tell me what the problem is?
It appears to have a mixture if leaves vari and non, clusters of small blue flowers during summer months. Evergreen. On the north face and quite a dry soil.

I think it's a ceanothus. Aka Californian lilac

Possible, the flowers are not as prolific as the Internet images though. Could be a symptom of its problem.

They are notorious for dying after about 10 years.

Agree. Looks like Ceanothus Zanzibar. As pp have said, they are short lived shrubs anyway, and many were hit badly by beast from the east
