growing mexican fleabane erigeron from seed

am trying to grow this from seed as I keep reading about how they magically self-seed etc... it's been two months and the seedlings in a tray are minuscule!!! like teeny tiny cress. when should I put them out?

I have never put them in trays, just sprinkled them around and then they come up like weeds. Be aware that once you have it you have it forever and not necessarily where you planted it.

I would harden them off and then plant out as soon as you can.

Oh thanks enb. I did them in trays because last year I did the sprinkle but nothing happened. I’ll start to harden off this week.

There are some things that no matter how much I want them I cannot have, they just don't grow for me and others which I cannot get rid of no matter how much I don't like them (I'm looking at you, Japanese anemones).

You know, for such a sweet looking plant, I kind of sense it DOESN’T like me. The seedlings are like, eugh, not you again .

Tomatoes curl up their leaves and die when they see me. I think I embarrass them.

Muesli I didn't even get any to germinate. I got 5 plugs from Sarah Raven and planted them last year - they've all survived to this year but only one of them produced any seedlings (3) - so much for 'prolific self-seeder. Which is probably a good thing.

I’ve just bought a pot, hope is is happy in my garden, it does grow locally.
Poppies hate me, sadly I love them.
