I'd say bee. Doesn't look like a fly

BarbaraOcumbungles · 18/05/2018 19:26

It’s a bee fly I think

MissWilmottsGhost · 18/05/2018 19:28

Funny I've had two of those in my house this afternoon. I wasn't sure either.

I decided bee and caught them in a glass and chucked them outside. If they aren't bees then they are probably hoverflies which are beneficial in the garden, so I still wouldn't want to squash them.

MissWilmottsGhost · 18/05/2018 19:31

That would probably explain the confusion barbara Grin

My first thought was fly from the buzzing, I thought it didn't sound like a bee but then it looked like one.

I don't think it looks like a bee fly. Is it not a honey bee?

I think this is a type of bumblebee: tree bumblebees can look almost all black/dark brown.

YouBoggleMyMind · 18/05/2018 19:40

It's a bee 🐝

It’s one of the droneflies, Eristalis sp. Smile
