What is this please before i cut it down?

Seem to have sycamore and ash (i think) shoots sprouting everywhere in my bushy/tree border. Anyone know what this is?

Hazel saplings, I would think?

I would guess hazel ut. I’m sure the bush I have that produces hazelnuts looks like that!

We had lots of shoots like that around the stump of an Elm that had long succumbed to Dutch Elm disease. Just get rid of it.
